Off to Ghana: Day 2

I have to get into the habit of actually posting things that write.

My journey started off with a 13 hour trip to Addis Ababa which is a hub for Ethiopian Airlines. When I boarded the plane I was greeted by the purser who offered me the choice of champagne, water, or orange juice and a selection of magazines. I chose the champagne and a Time magazine. At my seat was a pillow, blanket and amenity kit. I was seated at 4J.

Off to Ghana: Day 1

I’m currently at Dulles waiting to board my flight to Addis Ababa. The checkin in process for the Ethiopian airlines was surprisingly quick and easy. I thought there might be a problem since I couldn’t checkin online. The reason I couldn’t checkin online was 2 fold. My visa for Ghana had to be confirmed and probably the biggest surprise of the day, there was an equipment change. I would be flying on 787 Dreamliner.

I’m Going to Ghana…How Should I Get There?

In October I’ll be traveling to Ghana to do some volunteer work. Since I have a ton of miles in a variety of accounts I have many options. My only requirement is that there be lie flat seating, so at minimum I’m looking at business class. I’m only looking at 1-way to Ghana as I will be flying back to the states on Emirates no matter what.

Out of all the options, I’ve narrowed down my choices to 4 different airlines. They are Delta, South African Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines and Emirates. Here is a comparison of the routes, the cost, the cost using mileage currency and any notes.

Which route do you think I should take?
